History:
Starting in 1991, MHG began providing individual Life and Health plans to officers and crew onboard a number of cruise vessels. Shortly thereafter, we added individual Disability Income protection and Retirement/Savings plans to our portfolio of products. Having identified the need for a vacation medical plan, we developed the industry's first health insurance program which covers officers and crew while they are signed off. Building on the success of that program, MHG began consulting with a number of cruise lines regarding more comprehensive benefits that could be used to attract and retain experienced and qualified employees. Ten years on, the resulting programs are being provided to officers and crew onboard more and more of the world's leading cruise lines.
Captains and crew working onboard luxury yachts require coverage too. To meet this need, MHG has designed innovative group and individual benefit programs specifically tailored to the lifestyles and work environment that typify this branch of the marine industry. As competition for qualified crew increases, so does the importance of being able to offer attractive benefit packages.
MHG's commitment to providing solutions which cater specifically to those who work at sea continues to fuel the enhancement of existing programs and the development of new ones, not only for the cruise and yacht segments but also for marine contractors and the commercial sector.
