Individual short term plans are available to shipboard contractors and other professionals who are not direct cruise line employees but who work onboard cruise ships in a variety of areas. These plans are applied and paid for by individuals who have to take care of their own insurance arrangements while working onboard. Medical cover is often required by the cruise line prior to joining the vessel.

- Covers all nationalities traveling outside their home country from five days up to a maximum of one year.
- $1,000,000 Certificate Period maximum
- Emergency air/ground transportation to the nearest qualified hospital
- Hospital indemnity of $100 per night spent in the hospital
- Repatriation of remains in the event of a covered injury or illness
- Emergency dental treatment to a maximum benefit of $100
